Collaboration with istutapuita.fi carbon sink project

When you choose to travel via us to Finland or abroad, we plant one seedling and send you a certificate to your email address. All the forest planted by istutapuita.fi are FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council). Our collaboration began on the 11th of February in 2022.
Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism
We have signed the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, and we commit to halve our carbon footprint by 2030. On top of that, we dedicate ourselves to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Global Tourism Plastics Initiative
We support Global Tourism Plastics citizens´ initiative and highly recommend our partners to consider the initiative in their own activities.
Ekomatkaajat is proud to be a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative led by the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. As a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, we endorse the common vision to address the root causes of plastic pollution.
We commit to eliminate the plastic items we don’t need; innovate so all plastics we do need are designed to be safely reused, recycled, or composted; and circulate everything we use to keep it in the economy and out of the environment.
